| The Federation sponsors
"Miracles on Thirteenth Street" on National Night Out. "Miracles," a yearly
block party for the community, finds the streets surrounding the Lee
Resource Center filled with children and adults enjoying free food, games,
music, face painting, safety demonstrations and donated prizes. The law
enforcement community is always represented and can be found supervising
sport tournaments, flipping burgers, and getting to know the neighbors. The
Center becomes a back-to-school headquarters, with the health community
providing school immunizations, screenings, such as blood pressure checks;
and bone density checks. Other health providers and members of the
Provider's Council, distribute information on various health risks and host
an informational fair with back to school incentives. |
